One cool thing about the RP2350 is its dual-core setup. You can choose between Arm Cortex-M33 cores or open-source Hazard3 RISC-V cores. This makes it a great board for trying out RISC-V programming. The M33 cores are about twice as fast as the M0+ cores in the older RP2040.
The Pico 2 isn't just faster; it also has more RAM, with 520KB instead of 264KB, and more storage space with 4MB instead of 2MB. This makes it perfect for CircuitPython, where you need more internal memory for files. It also has more PIO blocks (3 instead of 2), so you can control more pins at once. If you need to create high-speed output signals, like for a DVI display, you can use the new HSTX feature instead of PIO.
For those who need a secure microcontroller for their products, the RP2350 offers advanced security features like Arm TrustZone, signed boot, and fast glitch detectors. These are all well-documented and available to everyone, making the Pico 2 a reliable choice for secure product development.
The Raspberry Pi Pico 2 is easy to program in C/C++ or CircuitPython/MicroPython and comes with detailed documentation. It’s a great microcontroller board for both hobbyists and professional developers, offering a solid upgrade from the RP2040 with lots of backward compatibility and new features.
